Google Chrome

These instructions were written using Google Chrome version 142.

If your organization controls the related settings for your browser, contact the system administrator.

Check Chrome settings

To show local IP addresses with mDNS hostnames (Chrome version 142 and later):

  1. Go to chrome://flags/#enable-webrtc-hide-local-ips-with-mdns
  2. Set Anonymize local IPs exposed by WebRTC to Disabled. The Anonymize local IPs exposed by WebRTC setting.
  3. Select Relaunch to restart Chrome.

To turn off local network access checks for WebRTC:

  1. Go to chrome://flags/#local-network-access-check-webrtc
  2. Set Local Network Access Checks for WebRTC to Disabled. The Local Network Access Checks for WebRTC setting.
  3. Select Relaunch to restart Chrome.

To allow local network access:

  1. Go to chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fyour-webapp-domain.com
  2. Set Local network to Allow. The Local network setting.

Disable extensions

To disable extensions that might block WebRTC:

  1. Go to chrome:chrome://extensions/ Chrome Extensions.
  2. Search for the extensions listed below and disable them.

WebRTC control extensions:

  • WebRTC Control
  • WebRTC Network Limiter
  • WebRTC Protect - Protect IP Leak
  • WebRTC Leak Prevent

VPN clients:

  • NordVPN
  • ProtonVPN
  • PureVPN
  • Windscribe
