Getting started

To record and analyze profiling data:

• Start Qt Profiler from Qt Creator or Qt Extension for VS Code, or install it as a stand-alone tool on Linux, macOS, or Windows.
• Select Start recording.
• Use the application to collect data.
• Select Stop recording to view the results.
• Inspect the results in the Qt Profiler views.

Supported trace formats

You can record and import trace files in the following formats:

• QML traces (*.qtd, *.qzt)
• Chrome Trace Format (*.json)
• Common Trace Format

Supported analyzers

You can use the following tools:

• QML Profiler
• Perf
• Chrome Trace Format (CTF) visualizer
