This topic provides board-specific information about the Nuvoton Gerda-4UL.

Board features

• KM2KSZ250UA MCU featuring ARM Cortex-M33@400MHz MCU, 3.5-MByte VRAM and 128KByte I/D TCM
• WVGA, 800x480 display panel
• 64-MByte HyperRAM
• Gerda original 2DGFX engine

Supported color depths

The reference port for this board supports 32bpp color depth. See QUL_COLOR_DEPTH and Color depth for more information.

Reading debug messages

Qt Quick Ultralite redirects all the output of qul_printf and Qul::PlatformInterface::log calls to UART, which is available on the host machine through USB.

Use the following instructions to enable UART logging on the device:

1. Make sure the jumper settings are as below:
   • CN133: Short 1 to 2
   • CN134: Short 1 to 2
   • CN160: Short 1 to 2
   • CN136: Short 1 to 2
2. Connect the USB mini-B cable between PC and USB port of board.
3. Power ON the board.
4. Open serial terminal with the settings: 115200 8N1

Enabling touch input on Gerda-4UL

Follow these instructions to enable touch input:

1. Build the Platform library with -DGERDA_ENABLE_TOUCH_SCREEN=on to enable touch input on Gerda-4UL board. See Building Qt Quick Ultralite from sources for steps to build Platform library from sources.
2. Connect the touch controller cables to I2C connector on the display unit.
3. Flash and run applications built against the newly installed Platform library.
