Image Search Preview dialog

In the Image Search Preview dialog, you can inspect the current image search results and adjust the parameters used to find the search image.

Use Search region to limit the search to a specific window or widget. By default, Squish searches the entire desktop.

Select Refresh to update the desktop screenshot displayed in the dialog. The dialog and any other Squish IDE windows are hidden while the screenshot is being taken.

Use Save... to keep a copy of the current preview screenshot.

The Classic and VisionIQ tabs let you choose the image search method. The available parameters for each mode are described in the Image Selection Editor.

The image search options correspond to the parameters passed to the ScreenRectangle findImage(imageFile, [parameterMap], [searchRegion]) and ScreenRectangle waitForImage(imageFile, [parameterMap], [searchRegion]) functions.

Changes to the search parameters trigger a new image search and update the results shown in the preview.

The Search image area shows the image used for the current search.

Use Apply the settings by to choose how the adjusted search parameters are applied. Select modifying the test instruction to update the parameters used by the current image search in the test script, or changing the defaults to update the corresponding settings under Test Suite Settings > Image Search.

Use Occurrence to specify which matching occurrence to use when multiple results are found. The Adjust the parameters button becomes available when a valid occurrence is selected.

Click Adjust the parameters to apply the search parameters using the option selected in Apply the settings by.

To leave the dialog without applying the changes, select Cancel.
